Here is my story
Hey, I’m Rhys—a wedding photographer based on the NSW South Coast and Southern Highlands. My approach is calm, candid, and focused on capturing things as they really are—no forced poses, no awkward setups, just the real atmosphere of your day.
I’m also a husband and a dad to two amazing kids. Being a parent has taught me a lot about patience, presence, and noticing the small moments that often go unseen. It’s a perspective that naturally finds its way into how I shoot—quiet, observational, and focused on real connection.
I first picked up a camera in 2014, photographing friends and family. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something more. I got into street photography, spending hours walking around Sydney shooting everything from architecture to those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments. That’s where “The Sidewalk Artist” came from—and where I learned to observe, shoot instinctively, and find meaning in the everyday. That mindset still shapes how I capture weddings today.
In 2016, I photographed my cousin’s wedding. I didn’t expect it to have such an impact—but something clicked. I was drawn to the emotion, the movement, and the challenge of capturing something that can’t be repeated. Since then, I’ve documented over 250 weddings across all kinds of locations and weather—rain, snow, sun, storms—you name it.
What matters most to me is creating a gallery that feels like your day. Not just what it looked like, but how it felt. I blend in, keep things easygoing, and let the moments unfold naturally. If we work together, you can expect a relaxed experience, plenty of laughs, and a set of images that bring you right back to every part of it—big and small.
